First of all following is are the specs of my laptop

It is a dell XPS L502X

Processor : Intel core i5 2410 M 2.30 GHz
Memory : 6GB DDR3 (1333MHz)
HDD : Toshiba 500GB (7200 rmp)
Graphics : Nvidia Gforce GT 525 M (1 GB)
OS : Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit (genuine)

So, a week ago , my laptop was running just fine and I had windows 8 pro 64bit(I upgraded it in january and its a genuine) . Everything was fine but due to one recovery software , my C drive got messed up due to which i had to Format my C drive .

Since then my pc lags a lot . I have original Kaspersky internet security 2013 updated and it has detected nothing . I have tried CCleaner , Advance System care , Malware bytes . Nothing wrong or malicious software detected .

I thought something was wrong with the hardware , did the hardware diagnose test using the BIOS and got no error . I have tried doing defrag and all the stuff which i know of .

Yet no solution . It lags in everything , i play a song on media player it stucks a lot , i play a video on vlc , it stucks in the middle a lot . I open a drive , it stucks and opens after like 20 seconds . I open the "start menu" , it shows up after like 5 seconds . I thought something was again wrong with some software , but got nothing .

Then i went into BIOS again to check something , and vola!!! even navigating through the menus of BIOS , it stucks !!!
Its like i press the arrow key and it goes to that menu like after 3-4 seconds , and not just once , but every single time. Even if i go to the same menu again and again and this is with all the menu on bios .

What could be wrong ? Diagnose from BIOS says nothing is wrong with any hardware and i have tried formatting my C drive . All the drivers are updated and even the windows is .

Please need help ...

I have tried the HDTUNE and scanned for bad sectors and any thing , believe me not even a single "box" was red , they were all green . I have got nothing wrong and i have opened my laptop today, cleaned it (because i thought could be something with heating issue but got nothing , it was already cleaned .)

I have used every possible thing i which i know of . I myself am a computer student . SO i have tried what i know . Yet , no help :(

Btw , your suggestion about the ram . I must take that into consideration too . I do have two ram one of 2GB and the other one of 4 . Lets me check them . I just hope it's a faulty ram and nothing more

Well that is the last thing to do .
I was thinking there might be some voltage issue . You know , what if out of the 2 cores of the processors , only one is getting sufficient voltage and the other one is not ? So that might be one case for the other core not to work with its full potential . Or could be something with the mother board .

So , what are the correct voltages required for the different cores of this processor ? Any idea ?
