Displayport to HDMI to LCD TV

I have a HP Elitebook 8560W and when I use displayport to HDMI to my TV, I can see the laptop screen on my TV but then the TV starts to blink off and on in a random pattern. I have tried screen resolution changes, and have gone throhgh Nvidia control panel to get rid of the blinking but so far, no luck. Drivers are up to date. Any thoughts? The TV does work as my son's MacBook uses a mini displayport to HDMI connection withthe same TV and same HDMI cable w/o any issues. Thoughts?

could try fresh installing the driver, grab driver fusion and latest nvidia driver.
uninstall current driver and dont restart.
run driver fusion and run nvidia driver cleaner.
install latest driver.

see if this helps at all.
