Will I need different ram for a phanteks tc14pe + asus sabertooth z87 haswell board?

Solution
I have never understood the attraction to those tall toothy heat sinks. There is no need for them....their only "cooling function" is to look cool.

Of course you could wait a few days for the new Asus Maximus Formula where ya can use whatever RAM ya want. I love this board.....so perty :)

Probably not going to work without a slight modification the ram is 44mm high and Phanteks recommends 40mm or lower. I would suggest the LP Vengeance http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820233388
You may be able to get the 44mm stuff to work but would have to mount the fans higher as there seems to be plenty of room between the motherboard and heatsink its the fans that sit lower. I have the tc14pe-bk in my rig and my 40mm gskill fits with room to spare except where the fans are(not an issue on my X79 board as the ram sits under the heatsinks and not the fans, but they can be mounted higher but you will lose air airflow over the VRMs.

thanks, so with 40mm under it will work smooth and fine? Also my case will be a thermaltake level 10gt
