I recently built a new computer and a few weeks ago. One day I walked into the room to find the GFI tripped. Since then I think its tripped 6 times. It has happened while my computer is in sleep mode, as well as at the EXACT same time I press the power button. I moved the computer to a different GFI in the same room and the same thing happened. I also tried it with and without a surge protector and it still happened.

I have used a ton of electronics in this room over the past 2 years and never had any problems. If someone could please help me out, I have absolutely no idea whats wrong :(

Solution
Can you get rid of the GCFI receptacle and replace it with a std receptacle? GCFI recpts are usually only required by national electrical code in kitchens, baths, and other areas that have moisture. They can be notoriously problematic when they get old.
