It will be able to handle it but you may need to update to the latest Bios. It is an efficient CPU even when overclocked (4.2Ghz at 95w)

"Supports AM3+ Processor, 8-Core CPU" It does support the FX6300

It is the FX version motherboard not UCC

Its impossible for your motherboard to be that one.

Just go to http://www.asrock.com/mb/NVIDIA/N68-VGS3%20UCC/?cat=CPU and see for yourself: that MOBO is AM3 only (no plus + on that).

Please confirm your motherboard model with either Aida 64 or some other application.

Motherboard Name ASRock N68-VS3 FX

The 4100 CPU is from the older AMD architecture. The 6300 is the piledriver architecture which has a 20% performance boost over the bulldozers CPU's. You will see a difference and when you overclock an even greater difference.

I get puzzled often how people get delusional with performance gains.

It seems to be all about bragging rights, a'int it? "Its too much of a shame to have an A8 quad 3.6ghz when i can get an A10 4.1ghz!!!"

Sure, like it would make a tad of a difference. Everybody shop and spend like a pro working at and buying for Pixar or something. But all they do is game a bit.

"Oh but i'll be playing BF3 at triple headed 1080p... bla bla bla". Really?

Come on, hit your chest and speak out loud with pride: i'm a conscious consumer and i will not waste my hours of sweat, tears and blood buying gimmickery advertisers and marketing douches tell me to".

Overclocking will drastically increase power consumption. TDP of 95 watts only applies at stock speed.
