Cpu and Gpu comparison question

Im about to order a new computer and im trying to get a decent upgrade from current cpu. I wanted to know how much better is the new computer going to perform.(not exact stats but just a quick assessment.)

Current Pc.
windows 7 64-bit
i3-2330 (2.20GHz)
intel Hd graphics 4000
4gb ram
500 gb hard drive
standard keyboard
1280x720 screen resolution
15.6 display

New pc:
Windows 8 64
AMD Quad-Core A10-5750M Accelerated Processor
AMD Radeon HD 8750M + HD 8000 Series Dual Graphics
15.6-inch diagonal Full HD BrightView LED-backlit Display (1920x1080)
6GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
750GB 5400 rpm Hard Drive
6-Cell Lithium-Ion Battery
No Internal DVD or CD Drive

in terms of performance, how much of a downgrade is it. Significant,Trivial or is it just not that big of a deal?

I assume these are 2 laptops right? i'd say its basically an upgrade. yes the i3 is better at single thread performance, enough to make it a slightly better cpu overall but just because car 1 is faster than car 2 does not mean car 2 is slow.
if its for gaming you will see an increase of speed since the apu's have unbeatable igpu's

ah i see, but i honestly dont do any real hardcore gaming, i do minor gaming like minecraft, bioshock, half-life, things of that nature. I mainly use it as a general purpose like watching videos school assignments, microsoft office, surfing the web, etc. In your opinion, will the Amd proccessor really impact these tasks?
