i need help picking a gpu for my new gaming pc

i dont know what gpu too get, i am stuck between the gtx 770 and the XFX FX797GTDFC Radeon HD 7970 GHz Edition

if there are any better options please tell me but the max i want too spend is around £310-320 on the gpu

That site is notorious for having inconsistent results. It says a GTX 295 outperforms a 7950 last time I checked.

To the OP: If you care about PhysX (Look it up on youtube), get the 770. Otherwise, go with whatever's cheapest. Also, if it's a 7970, it must be the GHz edition. Anything else wouldn't perform equal to the 770.

i am going to get the 7970 ghz edition but i dont know which one to buy because there is saphire 7970 ghz edition and there is xfx and a few others heres a link: http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/parts/video-card/#c=112

What resolution do you play at?
And do you have multiple monitors?

i play on one monitor, on 1776 x 1000 resolution, low res because i havent got a good gpu

If your going to be playing on a dual or triple monitor setup the 7970 has the advantage of 3gb of video ram. Otherwise I would probably just go with a 770.
