Hi, Tom's Hardware. I plan on making a new all around desktop in a few months, and I wanted to get an opinion on it. By all around, I mean I want to do some hard core gaming, however I also need to do photo editing and programming. My budget is around $2000, but I'm going for the best I can, as cheap as I can.

I plan on single monitor, 1080p gaming. Same monitor for everything else.

Parts:
Intel i7-4770k CPU
AMD Radeon 7970 GHz edition Graphics Card
Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 3TB hard drive
8 GB Corsair Vengeance 1600 MHz ram
ASUS Z87-A motherboard
EVGA SuperNOVA 1000W power supply

If anyone has any suggestions for cases, or other things, I'm all ears. I appreciate the help!

I know there's more to it, like the fans or if I'm going with liquid cooling, as well as cabling, but I'll get to that closer.

Yep, mentioned a SSD earlier, but wasn't specific, prob be good with a 128GB, unless you have a lot of apps/programs (only want OS, apps on it, use the platter for data files, caches, temp directories, page file, etc, anything that get's written to a lot - writes still erode the life of a SSD).

Looks like a good start, on the DRAM - it doesn't specify, but would look for 1866, 1.5 and CL of 9 (or a better set, something like the GSkill Snipers F3-14900CL9D-8GBSR or the Ripjaws X F3-14900CL8D-8GBXM at CL8 is even better (looks good with the mobo also) for just $3 more....don't forget an OS, might think a SSD and case wise, may be more than you want but maybe a HAF midtower

Thanks for the reply, Tradesman! I hadn't seen the Ripjaws X F3, but it looks like a good pair of sticks. My original set was 1.5V and had a latency of 9, so those are an improvement.

As for OS, I have a copy of Windows 7 Pro I was going to use on it. Would you recommend an SSD alongside that harddrive, or is that unnecessary? Thanks for the tower recommendation, as well. I like the air flow it seems to have, as well as the added ports on the front.
