Hello everyone. Recently I have been playing around with the iTunes 11 upgrade. I uninstalled it, rebooted my PC, come to usual "Welcome" message but stayed there for long enough to give me some time for a coffee (just joke, 1-2 minutes) then gone a black screen with the mouse in the middle , for another pleasant 2-3 minutes. Then when successfully log in, I get a popup-like message saying:

windows could not connect to the system event notification service service. this problem prevents limited users from logging on to the system. As an administrative user, you can review the System Event Log for details about why the service didn't respond.

Seeing that, I gone to check the Event Log, but guess what, that was disabled too! I also cannot access networking, and all networking modules of Avast Internet security antivirus was disabled(firewall, web shield) but other modules not.
In the Process Hacker task manager, I can see the SENS service, but I cannot stop it neither start it, I can delete it. In the status is something like, "Starting service", not remeber exactly. Is on Windows 7 Ultimate edition.

I tried the "nesh winsock reset (catalog)" neither that worked.

Any suggestion would be highly thanked from the bottom of the heart.

All best regards.

Hi there,
Not sure you'll ever read this justdlnow since you wrote this over a month ago, but I am having exactly the same problem and wondered if there was any chance you could tell me how you fixed your computer? I would be eternally grateful!
Thanks very very much

First I tried to undo the operation by using System Restore and restoring Windows files to a previous state. It didn't worked because... I deleted the restore points! :D .. so the only solution tht worked was to "upgrade" Windows to the same version by using its installation disk. Is like overwriting Windows again whitout losing programs and stuff. Good luck.
