Can i use my AMD Athlon II X4 630 heatsink fan on my new AMD phenom ii 9850 BE cpu

Will it keep it cool?

Yes you should be able to. Make sure that all the thermal compound on the heatsink cool plate is OFF before you apply a new coating.

I hope you meant FX-9590 ... There is no such animal as a PhII 9850

And, being that the Athlon II X4 630 Propus is 95w, I would suggest it would not keep the new FX very cool.

You may as well just invest in a $40 aftermarket cooler like the Evo 212 for example.
