Is this a solid gaming pc? [$2000 Budget]

this is much better
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1nAGy

-i7s and 16gb of ram are useless towards gaming performance and is a waste of time
-you will want better cooling
-a 780 is a smarter choice if you are going for a higher performance rig
-first of all, have you tried out triple panel gaming. second of all, do you actually like and see an improvement on performance. if you are to say no to either one of them, you shouldnt be thinking of triple panel

id get a single good panel like this

Same thoughts as above, skip the I7, don't go with 16gb's of Ram. However, I like the dual 760's, just not those ones. I'm fine if you want to try triple monitors, but you should know what you are getting yourself into.

The motherboard is a great buy, and will actually support triple SLI. Changed most else from your build though. Dropped down to the 4670k, you don't need the I7 for gaming. The Gigabyte 760's are a great buy right now, and perform really well and have great cooling. The PSU will support 3 of those 760's actually, is modular, and Gold rated. Tier 2 quality according to http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx as well. The Sandisk Extreme II series gives performance just under the 840 Pro, but also allows you to use all of it's storage space while not suffering from the huge performance hit that most all other SSD's take. Usually you need to keep 20% of your total SSD storage space free, or your drive performance greatly suffers. Read this: http://www.anandtech.com/show/7006/sandisk-extreme-ii-review-480gb The Ram isn't much more(ten dollars) than a good 1600mhz set, and is 1866mhz from g.skill. I changed the case to a Fractal Design Define R4 w/window(still grey) for cost savings, but you can stick with a full tower if it's preferable for you. The Fractal Design has plenty of space though, and is a great case. The Noctua Nh-U12s is a great cooler at a good price right now. Keeps up with the best heatsink/fan cooler on the market, only giving up a couple of degrees in performance. The Acer monitors are IPS versions for not much more(20 dollars) per.

:edit: Changed out the monitors, and added some explanation for parts.

1- those monitors are ugly TN Panels with bad colors and viewing angles , and you NEED viewing Angles in 3 montors set up because they will not face you. get IPS Panel ASAP

2- Samsung 840 pro is much more faster than any SSD in the market , for 2000$ build is a MUST , and take this hint , instead of 1x256 , get 2x128 and raid 0 them.

3- 4x4G is wrong , you fill up all the memory slots this way , what if you wanted 32G later? or 24 G ? , fill 2x8G and leave 2 slots free.

4- GET 4G version of GTX 760 , for 3 monitor setup you need more than 2G , at least 3G : Hint : Crysis 3 will need 2.2 G

5- you are paying 219 for case and not getting Cooler master Cosmos 2 ? REALLLY ? it is discounted now the best case on earth it is 80$ less , down from 350$ to 270$
look at it here

6- if you can , Asrock Extreme 6 is better than MSI , read about it here :

http://www.asrock.com/mb/Intel/Z87%20Extreme6/index.asp?cat=&os=&c=

better sound , and better options including a RARE HDMI IN ... imagine "IN" PS4 or Xbox !!!

have a nice day and tell me what you think

the cosmos 2 is probably the biggest waste of space of a case you can get. its bigger than a tj11, yet it can only hold 2 240mm rads natively. it looks cool, but otherwise, its a waste of space

the 760 in the first place isnt powerful enough to use the 4gb that you throw at it. its otherwise marketing.

the extreme6 pales in terms of hardware to msi and especially gigabyte. i can see a good reason to go with msi, but definitely not asrock or asus

840 pros are faster, but in real life usage scenarios, its benefits are almost non-existent. raid 0 is the biggest joke as well. it doesnt increase boot times (more often than not it slows it down), it doesnt increase loading times, nor does it have any other tangible benefit that you can possibly benefit from

it can take 1 x 360 Radiator top , and 2x 240 bottom , and a 200 Radiator Front fan with some modification.

lol yes it does fit , and more space is better than compact space for water cooling and easier to work with.

this is one of the best cases around , it is big yes , but it is cool , elegant , and alot of air flow inside ....

other cases look ugly and standard .

and for real you compare the cheap crap plastic ugly arc mini to Cosmos 2 ?

yeah more space is nicer, but its how you use the space. when a tj07 and a tj11 are both smaller and can cram way more watercooling components, it makes the cosmos 2 pathetic in techincal terms

the arc mini is 95% steel. the only thing that are plastic is the front panel, which in my opinion is a better choice than raw aluminum due to fingerprint staining. if you look at the cosmos 2, the front panel is completely plastic and the side panels are also mostly plastic. for a case that weighs 50 pounds empty and costs 350 dollars, you can definitely do better than that. yeah, id say it looks great, but its a impractical waste of space

you have your opinion , I have mine :)

and the cosmos is not 350$ it is 250$ today which is a steal .

Edit : the front sliding door is unique , I allways wanted a case with a door like that , can be a door case and normal front case :)

slides down and still looking cool

unlike the ugly swing doors ...

and it slides with a style :)

250 for a case that should be holding a atx sized board is hardly a steal. the 49.99 price for a arc midi r2 is a steal as it would be half price

id buy a cosmos 2 if it wasnt 50 pounds empty, regular atx sized, and contained 50% more metal for around the 100 dollar mark

lol I explained my reasons :)

some people buy a Mercedes and some buy a Toyota :p

any ways each has his own opinion :)
