Hello,

I have an old hard drive that I cannot wipe or alter and I recently replaced all the parts for the computer (mobo, cpu, psu, gpu, cd drive). I have windows XP installed on it and sensitive information on the hard drive.

1. Is there anything special I will have to do to make sure the parts are recognized and running smoothly with the old hard drive?

2. Can I simply put the new mobo CD in and let it do the work like on a fresh build?

3. Will the old mobo and gpu drivers interfere with installing the new drivers?

4. What do you all recommend so that all I have to do is delete(is it possible?) the old hardware software and install the new hardware software?

Thanks!

I cannot start fresh or transfer the data, I cannot back it up. I stated in the original post that i cant start fresh, please take this into consideration with your answers. The hard drive must remain as it is with the new hardware. I need suggestions to make sure there are no errors.
