I just built at computer around an ASUS M5A97R2.0 MB. It boots up and runs fine, but the DVD burner will not work. It lights up, but will not open or close. I have tried 2 Burners that work in another computer, but with the same results. I have changed the cable, plugged it into other sata sockets and still get nothing. ASUS online help has been unable to resolve this and suggests returning it RMA. I've been building computers for years and have never seen this. Please help me!

Nah... Its just a faulty bios recognition routine.

Try flashing your bios. Either backwards or forwards should do the trick. Even if you go back then reflash it with its current bios, should work.
