Memory use is at 89% when nothing is open! Please help

I believe that is the standard Windows 8 MS antimalware service. I have the same thing, in a week old Win 8 Pro install and I know I did not install anything weird.
And mine is currently consuming 38.2MB.

The question is, how much RAM does the OP have to begin with?

EDIT: Yes, that is part of Windows Defender. Default stuff built into Win8. MsMpEng.exe
