Ok so i am building a new system for gaming, video editing, etc. Im building a very high end system 4770k water cooled etc. Im going to do SLI( Apparently microstuttering is a thing of the past with Nvidia now) or Xfire if AMD gets their crap together.

Now my question is more of a " What do yall think" ( im building in Sept).
Should i get 2 GTX 780 or wait until AMD releases their new cards in October to see what they have in store. The 7970 was very impressive, cheaper and came with games than the 680 and stood toe to toe with it and beat it in most cases. Now that could happen again, AMD could release a new card that is cheaper, Stands toe to toe and has alot of great games over the 780.

Now Frame latency and Micro stuttering is an Issue with AMD, and hopefully they get it worked out. Now ill be playing at 144hz at 1080p with all the new triple A titles and i want to get max frames with high detail ( hence the multi card solution).

So what is y'alls opinion? Get the 780's or wait to see if AMD bust the 780 wide open?

Solution
I'm personally tired of waiting for things from AMD. Life is too short so I decided to get the rest of the parts now and use another GPU until then. AMD has been terrible lately in regards to informing their customers and delivering products in a timely manner. Anyway, I look forward to owning a 9970.
If you wait for the 9000 series, the 800 series will only be a few months away. But, if you hold out that long, it will only be another 7 months or so until the AMD 10000 series.

...Basically, if you wait, you'll never buy anything.

Look at the max running temps of anything you fancy buying.
(And the frequencies compared to others in its Nanometer tech range)
Read Tom's reviews, and any others you can.
Wait for a product to mature a bit, and drop to a marketable price, not a scarcity inflated price.
Dont Succumb to 'Techno lust' .
Make a hindsight powered informed decision.
Pretty much, never buy the latest thing immediately, as it wont be vastly greater than the last.
Spend your bunce before you die, but leave a couple of reliable monster rigs for the family.

Same here, however I was posting that to alleviate concerns of micro-stuttering because an article from a reputable news source would be better than anecdotal evidence such as you and I offer.
