mobo equivelency? between intel and amd asus mobo

so i just upgraded from an asus m5a99xevo
to an asus z87-k so i was wondering are these equal or did i down grade as far as the series are concerened ? NOT the PROCESSOR

No you definitely upgrades, the Z87 manages voltages/temps better, can handle DRAM up to 3000 depending on the CPU of course, Amd CPUs are limited to a small amount of 2133 generally (again individual CPU plays in), the Z87 supports PCI-E3, vs AMD and PCI-E2, generally more USB and SATA

hmm maybe becouse its from early 2011... iguess even if it was cheaper now it more tech advanced and i guess the cpu did add specs to it... so i guess im good to go... frm p2 x4 980 be to i5 4670k got me a better mobo along the way lol thanks
