I tried to clean my os by doing a clean install using the tool provided by gateway, during the process power to the laptop had cut out and it had corrupted the install. I got missing/corrupted bootmgr ( However it is spelled ). I don't have any disks since it was a refurbished computer, and when I had received it in the mail all it contained was a manual. I cleared the main partition using diskpart on my main computer through a sata connection. It gets to the point of completing installation, but gets an error "windows could not configure one or more system components" everytime. During this process I had noticed a partition reserved by the oem for 12gb with 11 of them used. Is there anyway I could use this to my advantage?

The method you gave me also does not work, from the issue it seems like it is a driver/hardware related error.
I did a startup repair ( Finally managed to just bypass the problem and finish instalation. ) and got a problem signature 1 to 7 and a locale number of 1033 it also say bad driver.

That number I gave is the model number the series number is NV49C0 8u

Locale ID (LCID) 1033 Decimal indicates US English (http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/goglobal/bb964664.aspx)
This link may provide more insight to the problem or at least some suggestions of things to try: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/t/498989/is-my-hard-drive-dead-problem-signature-07-bad-disk/
Could you provide more detailed information on the error message(s) you got?

I figured it out, I was trying to install a version of windows 7 ultimate. When I used home premium ( The one that came with the laptop ) it worked perfectly fine, thanks for all your help however!
