Hey everyone!
Lately I’ve been havig this problem with my pc and i can’t find the solution anywhere. My screen freezes whenever i’m playing videogames (no matter which one it is). Depending on the game, it happens at the beginning of a level or at the first frames of video trasitions (in sports games this would be the replays) almost never whilst actually playing. The frecuency of it happening is quite random, sometimes it happens right away, sometimes i can have the game going on for hours before it freezes.
I’m convinced it’s not a temperature problem because i have speedfan running and the temperatures are reasonable, besides in my understanding, if temperature was the issue the computer would shut down. Just to be sure i had it compleately dusted and changed the thermal grease on the procesor.
I had the power supply tested and it’s fine. Neither the RAM memories or hard drive show any errors when analysed. I tried changin the ard drive’s sata wire but it didn’t make a difference.
Regarding Software, I updated every driver there is. I also formated the hard drive and re installed windows.
My specs are:
A D Phenom(tm) II X6 1090T Processor, 3200 Mhz
4 GB Ram DDR3
Video card: VGA saphire ATI HD 6850 1GB DDR5 3D
Power supply: 750W
Mother: Asus M4A87TD
Just a detail on the side: Most of the times unplugging and opening up the cpu to check it out seemed to help in avoiding the problem for a while, but i don’t know why that could be.
I don’t know what else to try. What do you reckon?
