Buy Powercolor 7970 on sale now or wait for HD 9000 Series?

Hey guys,
So in Canada, the Powercolor 7970 (v3 model : AX7970 3GBD5-2DHV3) on ncix.ca is on sale for 340$ + tax with 20$ rebate until August 7th (Wednesday).
(Unfortunately I am on vacation and get back on Tuesday...)

http://ncix.ca/products/?sku=70111&vpn=AX7970%203GBD5-2DHV3&manufacture=PowerColor&promoid=1062

Due to the fact that it is on sale, and that I need an upgrade sometime anyways, I am wondering whether I should upgrade from my 6850 to this card before the sale ends or wait until the new 9000 series comes out?

I would really like the opinion of the community on this, as I am not quite sure which path I should go for this.
Also, does anyone know how much of a performance boost the 9000 series will have compared to the 7000 series, if I decide to wait?

Thanks a lot!

I don't really see a reason to crossfire or SLI my current setup (nor do I really have the money for it, plus I'd need to get a heavily priced higher wattage PSU = more money needed). All I really want is an upgrade from my 6850 (sometime in the near future) to something better that fits under my current budget of around $400 Canadian. Anyways, I believe that an upgrade to a 7970 (or equivalent) is almost double the possible power when compared to my 6850.

So as previously told, I guess I'll wait for the 9000 HD series to come out and see how much better they are compared to the 7000 series, as I am not in a rush to upgrade.

I am not in a rush right now, so it doesn't really matter to me about when I will upgrade. I'm just trying to get a higher end graphics card, so if the 9000HD series makes that much of a difference, then I can wait.

By the way, has there been any information about how much performance boost the 9000 series will have when compared to the 7000 series?

I'm sure the 9000 series would be almost the same price as the 7000 series. They are going to compete with the 760s pricing bro, we all know that AMD is cheaper. But if they bundle it with the new games, like bf4, prices might be on par or a little bit expensive. If I were you, I'd wait for the new 9000series bro. Your 6850 is still a very powerful card. :)

Thank you very much for the responses guys. Looks like I'll be waiting for the 9000 series to come out, and hopefully have them bundle games with it like they did with the 7000 series. This also gives me some time to save up for a new power supply, so thanks a lot guys! :)

Actually, I posted a thread about it before, and the community suggested that I save up for a new PSU, an upgrade from my Antec HCG-520M 520W to something that can give me a little bit more headroom for overclocking with a higher end card and future upgrades (of course, future GPU's will also have lower tdp and power consumption). What do you think?

Well if you SLI, upgrade it, if not, I don't see a point in upgrading if you're going to use 1 card only unless you buy the super high end cards. Well let's see what you'll buy, and it also depends on how long have you been using your PSU.
