I have the lg Mach and I was out I plugged it in and I came home it was at 75 percent batterie and so I used it and it wouldn't go down in power so I did nothing until it institaniously jumped to zero won't charge and would turn on and off every 5 seconds I pulled the batterie and it did nothing but it charges my phone when the batteries out

try scratching the copper connections if this doesn't work try putting all your data from your phone onto a computer and try again

I have the same problem with the Samsung Galaxy 3 Note. I tried buying a new battery, changing cables, and factory resetting the phone. Nothing works.
check if the adaptor warm or not, if it's not. then the problem is in the adaptor. get a new one.
if the adaptor is warm, check the mini usb cable, see if it's properly plugged. unplug and plug.
if still not working, feel the battery, if it's not warm, then the battery is dead, buy a new one.
if it's warm, maybe it's overheat.
go find somewhere cooler (right down of an air conditioner, or a fan). wait until your battery a bit cooler, and charge your phone.
while doing this, stop or pause any application or update that's taken place within your phone
if after the battery is cooler and your phone is not charging, well then. time to replace the phone

The adapter not being warm can easily be an issue in the phone's charging circuits, or any of a dozen other places...
This really isn't that useful.
