Just got a new Computer built for me with windows 8 OS but the computer cannot detect any WiFi networks even though my laptop detects more than 20.

My Specs are:
Asrock z87 Extreme6 MOBO
Intel i5 3570K CPU
2G 7870 Gigabyte VGA

and my ethernet controllers show errors under device manager however they encounter errors upon attempting to update driver.

Solution
Try this:

Press Win + I to go to the settings. Go to General>Advanced Setup>Troubleshoot>Advanced Options>Startup Settings and click Restart.

On the Startup Settings screen, press F7 to disable the driver signature enforcement. (In Windows 7, you could hit F8 after POST to have the Startup Settings screen. I'm not sure if its the same for Windows 8).

Its only temporary. If it works, then it means that your WiFi card doesn't have signed drivers. Either you have to buy one that has, or find a signed driver for another card that work with yours.

If you are using Windows to find drivers, don't. Go into device manager and see what is not installed or has errors. Then download the drivers for it from the hardware vendor support pages (motherboard, wifi card, whatever needs it). If the PC was built for you by someone, they should be responsible for loading all the drivers on it.

That mothrboard does not have built-in WiFi according to the specs on the support site, is there another wifi card in it? Is it working and close enough to see the router?
