Stock HSF from i7-3770 to i5-3470 processor?

I would like just to know if it stable and compatible to use the stock heatsink fan from my intel core i7-3770 to my newly gathered i5-3470? it's both lga1155 socket / 3rd gen ivy bridge

i bought the i5-3470 from my friend without heatsink fan included, and im planning to use my i7's stock hsf since my i7 setup has an aftermarket cpu cooler.

thank you, im going to try it now.
by the way, i dont have anymore a thermal solution but the i5 3470's has still some on it.

can i put the heatsink fan without a thermal paste? thanks.
