Hello,

I recently had some help upgrading some parts of my computer (motherboard, CPU, and CPU Cooler). The computer was running fine for the most part, but now I am getting Kernel Power Error 41 63 in the Events Viewer after the computer randomly restarts. I have tried multiple things that I have read on the internet so far, such as disabling audio drivers and restoring the BIOS to default settings (although I never overclocked anything so i dont see how that would affect anything).

One thing that I am noticing is that before my computer restarts, the one video card reaches temps of about 90 degrees, which I feel is a little high. Any insight or things that I can try would be appreciated.

My current build looks like this:

These kinds of errors can be caused when the computer is not shut down correctly. A few possible candidates could be overheating, a problem with the power supply, or the power button. Based on your graphics card overheating. I would assume the problem is that. Try shutting the computer down and letting it cool. Then take the overheating card out (Let your computer cool first. Cards get VERY hot when running). Start up your computer and let it run for a while. If that fixes it, it could be the fact that crossfire is taking too much power that your PSU can't keep up with, or your graphics card is overheating and causing the computer to restart.

Well one thing that I noticed was that my sound card was installed very close to the GPU that is heating up, and was very close to the fan. Wasnt sure if that was a potential issue, so I uninstalled that, leaving more space under the GPU fan, hopefully that will help. I will test that and then possibly look at removing the one GPU

Well, I made that change, and tested out the graphics cards on max settings. The computer gave the same kernel error after reboot, although before the computer rebooted, the graphics cards were running around 63-65 degrees, and hanging together, unlike before. So I am guessing i need to test my RAM and power supply

This may be of help to someone else, as it is a bit late for this thread. I had multiple event 41 63 after installing a new graphic card (no more power-hungry than the first one).I swapped in a higher wattage PSU and, touch wood, it has gone away.
