Hi, I have a problem with my 5870. I have been using this gpu for almost 2 years but today it suddenly stopped working. the GPU seems to be running when I turn it on because the fan spins but there is no display. I've tried reinstallling it and it still didn't work, On rare occasion, I was able to get display but there is some artifacts appearing and very slow boot up. I've tried to use my old 8800gt and it works. Did my 5870 died on me or maybe the power supply? If it is the GPU, is it fixable?

well I would assume so.
I had a gts250 hooked to a poor quality ritmo 680w psu, it ran well for 3 years and then suddenly stopped working. I couldnt get any display from the gts250. Then I put a hd5450 to that system and it worked.
I took out the gts250 and put it in another system and it worked too.
So the moral of the story is, poor quality psu's lose their strength over time
