Hello Community,

I built a computer a few months ago and have not had a problem with it until today. Every 10-15 minutes, the display will freeze then come back then freeze and then freeze the whole computer forcing me to shut it down via the power button. It is an AMD 7850 Gigabyte graphics card. The drivers are updated. (I went through device manager to check if the card was up to date). I also use a tv as a monitor, I am not sure if this has anything to do with it but I have never had a problem in the past.

Any suggestions?

Thank you for your time.

These are the steps i would follow

1 )go back to the previous drivers and test your system...
2) remove your card and put it back inside..maybe its not seated very well....
3) test your system with another psu ,maybe from a friend, and make sure this psu can provide for your system..

and yes i got the same question What model and brand PSU are you running?

Everything is less than 3 months old in the computer. I have a corsair 500w.

Im not even running close to limit of power supply. I don't overclock and I have an intel 3470 processor.

I was running games on it fine less than 12 hours ago, put it to sleep, woke up the next day and has this problem.

You could always try a system restore if the problem just started happening. Sounds like a driver, overheating or possible bad psu or gpu issue. If a restore doesn't fix your problem I would check your temps with something like gpu-z, hardware monitor or msi afterbuner. If it's not overheating then you could be looking at a failing psu/gpu.

Temps seems fine, I have been monitoring those. I have not manually set a restore point, does windows 8 do that automatically. Also how would I go about reinstalling drivers. Do I simply uninstall then download the drivers again? No vibrations, now not even getting a signal on the monitor.

Funny thing is this started when I downloaded CCleaner to help clean out some unnecessary files on my computer. I uninstalled the drivers on my graphics and reinstalled the latest. It seems to be working fine. I have only tested it for a few days so its hard to tell. I have gamed on it for only a couple hours and restarted and put it to sleep without any issues. This did happen before where it would work for a short time but usually it only worked for a few hours not a few days. What are the chipset drivers, is that the same as updating the BIOS?

Hey sorry for the late reply, the thing is the computer has been working fine for 3 months when I built it. Why all of a sudden would the computer just work sometimes. I also installed CCleaner and had it delete a bunch of files. Does that have something to do with it? I have an Asus P8B75-LX Plus motherboard.
