Im looking for a laptop for university that i would use for all classwork, media consumption, and possibly gaming. As $850 is my maximum allotted cash to spend, the lowest model of the Lenovo y510p (IdeaPad Y510p Laptop - 59369999) looked like a good option.

I wanted to know if this would be a good choice as it only has a resolution of 1366x768 and only a single 750m rather than in SLI like the more expensive models. I want to know if these factors make it not good for gaming and if i should forget trying to get a gaming laptop in my price range and should instead get a laptop that is thinner, lighter and better battery life for media consumption and productivity use only

a single 750M with that resolution should be fine for gaming. I would go with a thinner lighter laptop personally unless you really think your going to do a lot of gaming while keeping up grades (I ended up not doing any gaming at all, so a gaming laptop was a waste).
