I have a one-year old LG IPS235V LED monitor. This is an excellent monitor and I plan on keeping it for at least three more years. However, I've made it a point to simply discard the dirver install CD's after a while owning the product. Clutter control.

Your opinion -- is this okay to do? I would figure that today's operating systems have drivers for these monitors, and hopefully if I were to sell my monitor one day, the buyer wouldn't have an issue finding drivers.

Just a question. Thanks!

Its not a driver. The disc simply contains an .inf file that once installed "tells" your computer what your monitor is, and what modes or other enhancements it will support. Without installing this, if your monitor or PC is older, your PC may not recognize your monitor, and will simply display it in your device manager as something like "standard VGA monitor".
However, having said that, most modern Windows machines will be able to detect make and brand, and set the correct modes for most modern monitors.
