So I just built a PC ( http://pcpartpicker.com/p/1j9Et ) and after putting it all together, I turn on the power supply and nothing happens. We did the paper clip test and the power supply fan kicks on and everything, but when it is connected to the motherboard absolutely nothing happens (both power supply and motherboard stay off).

Any suggestions? I did look a little bit and saw some related threads, but nothing that seemed to directly address this issue. Thanks in advance for any help!

Yeah, after trying with another power supply (and thoroughly inspecting both power supplies) I would agree...any ideas what the issue with it might be? Should I assume the motherboard is defective, or is there perhaps some small thing that I completely missed?

So am I correct in saying, you plugged everything in then u jump started it? This is done by connecting the 2 power + and - pins with something conductive eg. screwdriver.? Is this an external build?
