Which Processor Is Better? And Is There Much of a Difference Between Them?

I currently have a quad core AMD A6-3600 APU with Radeon(tm) hd graphics 2.10 ghz. I might get a used computer on craigslist with this processor: Intel Core i7-860 Quad-Core, 2.8 GHz. Which one is better and is there much of a difference between them? And would it be worth the buy on craigslist? ($400) Here's the craigslist link: http://richmond.craigslist.org/sys/3917701696.html

That's a pretty good deal in my opinion. I've never owned any AMD hardware in my life (my first build I attemped is this one I have currently) but from my research when intel started makeing the "i anythings" is where they started to press the nitros button. I say (just because it's a hell of a deal too) to grab it. I am 100% sure it is faster than your APU by leaps and bounds not only on workload, but graphics as well because of the discreet GPU on the craigslist one.

Edit: In the computer world you really, really, REALLY get what you pay for. The i7 -860 is nearly 300 bucks, the A6 is 80 bucks. On processor power alone the i7 walks all over the A6, in graphics (with the HD 6670) the i7 Walks all over and then spits on the APU.

Too...

Unfortunately, I don't know which processor is better without looking it up, but I would say that computer, assuming it works and comes with OS, is worth $400 for sure.

Ok, so according to This list of benchmarks The i7 is 60% better on paper.
I suspect that there would be a noticeable difference in some applications. Mostly due to the clock rate.

Too many Google searched benchmarks to link. Just google them yourself or take our words for it. If I had the cash right now I actually would buy that craigslist one just for a second computer. Go for it as your APU one you could use for streaming / watching movies off the internet on your big screen T.V.

The i7 is def the better CPU, but the gtx650 is def the better GPU (im pretty sure at least)
But if it were me, and my money, i would get the latter one for $430 (assuming it comes with windows), as it would be overall a better computer, with better upgrade options
That is, of course, my opinion

Best of luck!
