What OS are you running? Windows 8 includes native support for Realtek ethernet controllers and I believe that Windows 7 does as well.

Check out Realtek's website for driver downloads.

Running windows ME for time being. Tried several downloads and just tried realtek controller. Could it be the card?

Windows ME has been unsupported since 2006. I can't even find that exact card so it may be unsupported as well.

Any ideas as far as solutions. Would changing cards be a viable option or is it ME itself?

Changing the card should do it. Despite no longer being supported, Realtek still publishes and updates Windows 4.x drivers (95, 98, and ME)

Any particular ideas on cards. I have several spares laying around. Anything in particular that I should look for?
