Format and Use Hard Drive After RAID

Hi,

I have a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda drive that I kind of screwed up. On my HP machine I went into the BIOS and changed the drive type (I think) from IDE to RAID.

The primary drive is a 160 GB drive. Now, when I connected this second drive and powered on the PC, the capacity of the 1 TB has become 160 GB due to the BIOS settings. I have tried Ctrl + I but it shows both drives as Non-RAID so I can't un RAID them.

I have tried Windows 7 disk management but it still shows as a 160 GB drive and does not show any other partitions or unused / unallocated space. Tried to install Windows on that drive but same result.

Is there a way, preferably on Windows that I can format the drive back to 1 TB and use it?

Any help will be highly appreciated.

Cheers

Thanks for the reply lonewolf7. From the BIOS I can change the SATA Emulation from RAID to IDE but the disk size still shows as 160 GB (149 GB after formatting). I will remove the CMOS battery for 15 mins and see what happens. I'm not sure how to clear the CMOS jumpers though.

If I connect the disk to another machine, will it show the full 1 TB?

Cheers
