Hey guys,
I'm just wondering something about the GPU I plan on getting.

The GPU I've got my eyes on is the MSI AMD HD7850, however, I was wondering if you guys know any GPU's what are just as good (or better) then this GPU whilst keeping the price lower.
Personally, at the moment any GPU what would be capable to play the latest titles on full would be perfect for me.

What would you guys recommend?

You don't need to buy anything, all you need to do is download MSI Afterburner.

It has two sliders one for Core clock and one for memory clock, all you have to do is slide the core clock up to 1000mhz then click apply and save.

That's it, you now have the same specs as a HD 7870.

You can OC the memory clock as well but I wouldn't, there's not much need, you would get a few more fps.

But yes its that easy and that beats the 650 Ti hands down at no extra cost.

If you want to have a play about with MSI or get a look at it, download it and see for yourself, it's just a...

That's not actually true, at stock the 7850 and 650Ti are practically a dead draw but overclocked the 7850 knocks the 650 out the water.

Which one looks better to you?

All the 650ti is, is a 650 with a boost from stock, the 7850 when OC goes way past the 650's boost.

Your better off with the 7850 and they are the same price practically.

I have a 7870. It's a pretty good card. If you plan on playing newer games on max settings though, expect to get around 40-50 frames.

That doesn't sound too bad if you ask me, it's better then the 2/3 FPS i'm getting right now. xD

I see, the problem is I know next to nothing about over-clocking, would I be required to buy anything else to over-clock it? extra-fans/better cooling system?

It depends on the overclock, if your not going to overclock past the stock voltage you shouldn't really have to worry to much about extra cooling.

You could just use AMD catalyst overdrive as well. If you not going to mess with the voltage, you don't need msi after burner.

Also if your going to overclock, I recommend a gpu monitoring program like gpu-z.
