Will this laptop lag when using a capture card?

Solution
That seems to be a software based unit(thus LOTS of output options).

It should note that while it has "HD" in the name it seems to be upscaling and not actual HD capture.

You meet the requirements for sure. You may run into some issues with the absolute top end settings(ONLY if the system is overloaded doing other things too), but honestly, today's i3's are faster than the older core2 cpus.

With a hardware card, I used to be able to record SD on a single core AMD Duron 1000 :)

and "Work faster than ever with optimized acceleration for 64-bit, NVIDIA® CUDA™ and Intel® Quick Sync Video" This is a nice feature :) The notebook has Quick Sync.

I think you are going to have some fun with that thing.
As long as the capture card is hardware based, You should not have any issues. Software based cards use the cpu and can have more issues, but are also more flexible with a fast system.

If you are looking at Game Capture HD, They recommend a bit more(2.0 ghz dual core), but seeing as they have had so many 2.0ghz cpus over the years and newer cpus are faster. You "should" be able to pull it off.

I personally would look at a card that does all the work for you(I am going to assume you are playing on another system/console).
