Hey guys,
i have an big issue with my new computer. My hd radeon 7850 2gb doesnt work well with a game i play. Especially with League of Legends. My fps droppin down from 60 fps down to 30 fps at radom times. After searching for a solution i found out that the gpu core clock, memory etc. don´t adjust properly to the game. While using the desktop the gpu core clock is at 300 Mhz while the memory clock is at 150 Mhz. While using high graphical demanding games (or benchmark tools) like bioshock infinity all Gpu settings adjust properly as they should, and i can play without any probs on ultra high. At League of legends the Gpu settings are unstable for no reason (the core clock, memory etc. are goin up and down).
My questions are:
Can i set the Gpu settings manually for a specific game?
If i use Amd overdrive in the CCC does my waranty automatically expire?

Some aditional information:
Mainboard: asus m5a78l le (with latest Bios version)
Cpu: Amd fx-8320
Graphic card: Hd radeon 7850 2gb (not Oc´ed)

Some things i already tried to solve the problem:
Changed my HDD, Updated AMD drives, changed my power supply unit, changed ram.
Everything is correctly connected.
My avarage Cpu temp under high performance is 55 degrees Celcius
and the avarage gpu temp under high performance is about 52 degrees Celcius.
I hope i could described my problem well in order to get a solution.
Thank you in anticipation!

Yes you can set up specific settings for your game in the AMD CCC.
In the main section, select "Presets". This is where you can create this setting. At the bottom you will just need to select the application. Or if you want you can just leave the preset and click on it and activate it then start your game.

The preset saves all the current settings you have at that moment so you can quickly activate them.

Also for the AMD Overdrive, I don't know if it voids warranty. I don't think it does unless you adjust voltage. I overclocked my 7850 pretty high without increasing voltage. I pushed it up several hundred mhz on each.

Somewhere there should be a setting to turn off the power saving features so the card will run constantly at the...

Somewhere there should be a setting to turn off the power saving features so the card will run constantly at the highest clock. You will want this in your preset since the card has an issue with wanting to stay at 300mhz, but I am not sure where this setting is right off.

Apply these settings and it will fix your problem.

thanks for your quick response.
i found the preset feature in the CCC but this doesnt solved my problem.
I also found the energy saving option on windows and in the CCC. I selected max performance at the windows energy saving options, but still did not fixed it.
On the CCC the energy saving option is only for my CPU, which is min 100% power and max 100% too.
But i cant find a setting for the energy options specificly for my GPU.
prolly i have to turn on the ati overdrive?
Thank you in anticipation!

The preset is just to save any current settings you have applied in CCC so you can reapply them quickly. For example, if you have overclock settings and such you can save that setting. Then you can have another saved setting that is not overclocked, but has different video settings enabled for some types of movies. That is the only way using CCC that you can create special settings for specific applications. However, like i said it all depends on what settings you have set. If you do not have any settings set, then activating a preset will do nothing. If you set settings to a preset, and then don't change your settings in CCC you are constantly running in that preset already and thus won't see any change.

The Windows energy saving option is not what you need, as it won't have any real effect on your system.
I think the one you found in CCC is for the CPU, not the one you need which is for the GPU. In a second I will try to find it again and post if I do.
I don't think it is in overdrive though, I already looked in overdrive and didn't see it. Though honestly, if I was you I would go ahead and overclock your system. I did mine like first day I had it and got my core clock to 1000 and RAM clock to 1400. I could probably get mine up to 1050 and 1450 which is the max, but I would probably need to give it a touch of voltage and I don't like to add voltage really.
I don't know what kind of cooler you have, but I just have a Powercolor model with fairly basic cooler. I changed the thermal paste, and with this overclock running it as hard as I can it stays around 45 degrees Celsius. That is much cooler than normal, so it won't hurt the lifespan. You might as well get the extra performance.

thanks for your response.
i tried differend things with the preset settings. i changed all things up (i can change desktop management which i think isnt a big deal for me, general desktop options, general VGA display, Video and Games.) In games i can only change anti-aliasing texture filtering, framerate control and tessalation. I changed all the things and tried them, but still not solved my probs.
You said i should overdrive my settings. im not quiet sure if it solve my problem, because in my opinion, the problem is not the max performance of my card, its more the underclocking performance at a less demanding graphical game.
to be honest for me theres not a reason to overdrive my card( btw: i never OC´ed cpu or gpu and i have no clue how to do it) because the standart performance is more than enough for my current situation.
i hope you can help me to find the option to set the GPU settings on a stable level
thank you in anticipation
