Well I have been making my $1000 gaming build and am wanting a second opinion. Just a note for people with suggestions, I need a monitor, OS, mouse, and keyboard.

Build with OS: Link
Build without OS: Link

Solution
Get this build instead, it has a much better CPU, better CPU Cooler, better Motherboard, better case, better PSU, better Monitor.

Also getting the 4GB Version of the Nvidia 760 is just wasting money as on a single monitor you would never need 4GB and it might affect performance (a few frames). So better get the 2GB Version of that card.

So here is the thousand dollar beast :

PCPartPicker part list / Price breakdown by merchant / Benchmarks

CPU: AMD FX-8350 4.0GHz 8-Core Processor ($179.99 @ Microcenter)
CPU Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 82.9 CFM Sleeve Bearing CPU Cooler ($29.99 @ Newegg)
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic Silver 3.5g...

Couple suggestions. Get an 8350 instead of a 8150. It's like an extra 10 bucks I think. Also instead of a 660 ti get a 760. It's 20 bucks more but you get the memory over a 256bit interface. Also slightly better performance.

Yes, I had heard about the fact that Windows 8 didn't work with older games, but I won't be trying to play many old games. If I did, I would play them on my awful laptop that runs Windows 7.
