New sound card worth it?

i'd say for £20 you might notice a difference, SB have been very poor with drivers as of late. Xi-Fi range would be the lowest I would consider though. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus-xonar-dgx-51-channel-pci-express-sound-card-dolby-with-headphone-sockek might be better, but shipping costs are an issue. no one really looks at sound cards these days, on board is good enough and CPU's are powerful enough to not notice the usage that on board generates if it even does any more.

it'll be more future proof as PCI is dead and future boards generally won't have it, whereas PCI-E...

it'll be more future proof as PCI is dead and future boards generally won't have it, whereas PCI-E will not be dying out and you can reuse it on any future build.
