I am trying to build a gaming pc for around 800. I already have the case but before I place my order I just want to get a few more opinions to make sure this is the way to go! Would love input!

CPU: Intel Core i5-3350P Ivy Bridge 3.1GHz (3.3GHz Turbo) LGA 1155 69W Quad-Core Desktop Processor

GPU: MSI Gaming N760 TF 2GD5/OC GeForce GTX 760 2GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI

MB: ASRock H77 Pro4/MVP LGA 1155 Intel H77 HDMI SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

RAM: G.SKILL Ares Series 8GB (2 x 4GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 2400 (PC3 19200)

PSU: CORSAIR Builder Series CX600 600W ATX12V v2.3 80 PLUS BRONZE Certified Active PFC Power Supply

HDD: Seagate Barracuda ST1000DM003 1TB 7200 RPM 64MB Cache SATA 6.0Gb/s 3.5" Internal Hard Drive

Drive: ASUS 24X DVD Burner - Bulk 24X DVD+R 8X DVD+RW 12X DVD+R DL 24X DVD-R 6X DVD-RW 16X DVD-ROM 48X CD-R 32X CD-RW 48X CD-ROM Black SATA Model DRW-24B1ST/BLK/B/AS - OEM

This all fits right on my budget, I cannot afford to add another 100. Ive heard suggestions to upgrade to a 7970 or 770, but that is just out of budget right now. Thanks for looking

Thank you for the input. I have a more specific question, would it be smart to buy a cheaper MB and CPU because the 1155 is going to be outdated, and invest in a better gpu? because when i upgrade my pc in the future I will have to replace the MB if I replace the CPU. Or will this cpu/mb last me for a few years?

That depends on how when you want to replace this PC. If a year or less, then yes drop down to a cheaper CPU & MB. If you want it to last then get the best CPU and MB you can afford.

An easier question would prob be, How long will this CPU/MB combo last me before it starts falling behind?

That question is actually harder and almost impossible to answer. We don't know what future games or applications may require, or what future hardware will be capable of, or what performance levels would constitute "falling behind" to YOU.

The only answer would be: Until YOU are no longer satisfied with the performance of the machine.
