HP Pavilion dv6700 (dv6875se) Windows XP installation problems

I have an HP Pavilion dv6700 that I am trying to install Windows XP Pro on. I insert the CD and then power up the laptop and then it instructs to "press any key to boot to CD". When I do, the Windows installation starts loading the files. Then it gets to a screen that states that "Windows did not find a hard drive" and then I have to press F3 to quit. The hard drive is the one that came with the laptop and it is 120GB and there is 2GB of memory. Can anyone PLEASE help me with this problem? For some reason I just love this laptop and would really like to continue to use it. Thank you very much in advance for your help in this matter.
