Hi, I live in a house where there are four computers in one room, and when one computer gets shut off or turned on, all computers lose internet for about 5 mins and then resume connectivity. All computers are set up with ethernet cables. What can i do to remedy this? Its very annoying.

I am assuming the PS's are cabled to a modem/router with a switch incorporated into it. It's possible that the router is set up to give each machine an IP address via DHCP and somehow there is an issue when the request is made to the router for a new IP, or another IP is released during shut down. I would recommend setting up fixed IP's on all the computers and also set the gateway and DNS settings on each PC. This way they will always know their IP, the gateway IP (router) and a DNS server to lookup internet addresses.
