GTX 760 DOA? or am I missing something

Got my MSI gtx760 today and took it home, popped it in. System booted up but failed to detect the gpu. Uninstalled and retryed...same thing. the screen is run through via hdmi to the 760 but its always running via mobo internal but not the gpu. Attempted to force drivers....failed. popped in old card and runs great, now im at a loss. The 760's fans kick on but other then that its an expensive brick. Im at a loss and hope its not doa.

Well if it boots in safe mode, but cant after, just kinda tells me the card is probably just DOA. Your power supply is way more than enough to run the single card, so you shouldnt be having a problem there.

Are you sure your power supply is able to handle the power the card needs?

Good point, I am not sure. The psu is rated at 750w and I thought it could handle it. I was planning on upgrading to 900+ for sli later but I may do it earlier now.

Update, I was able to boot is safe mood and found that the gtx 760 is now detected and the drivers are updated. I restarted to load windows but failed after the microsoft logo appeared. Screen sort of shorted/twitched then goes black while my system continues to run. Not sure what that means but becoming scared im damaging the card.

Im begining to agree. Ive contacted the store I purchased the card from and they are willing to do a card swap. I now need to drive the 1.5hrs to the store. Thanks for the help.

Yeah, im pretty sure the card is just DOA, just make sure when you take it out of the anti static bag, be careful handling it, ground your self and all that.
