I have a home-built cpu with an ASUS F1 875-v pro motherboard, the EVGA Geforce 500 graphics card, and an AMD processor.
I had a 20" Lcd TV hooked up with VGA but now i have a 17" samsung lcd monitor. After booting it does not turn the monitor on and the monitor says "check signal cable" but everything is plugged in properly. The monitor works immediately when plugged in to my laptop and the computer worked fine when plugged into the tv. Any help would be appreciated since i'm relatively lost at this point. it must be the resolution that isnt right but i don't know how to change that without a working screen! halp!

Everything is plugged in tight and the cable works just fine. I tested the monitor on my laptop with the same cable, and it turned on right away without a hitch.

I want to know if there a command or keys i can hit as it starts up to set the resolution to default. i think that would fix my issue but i dont know how to do any of that stuff.
