I have 100 Mbit/s internet from shaw cable in Canada. It usually tests around 85 or so. Very quick. No problems surfing the web or streaming video. For some reason when someone on the network is using Netflix, I can't play League of Legends without 10 times the ping i normally have. It's extremely frustrating and I'm wondering if anyone has a solution. Something like limiting bandwidth or prioritizing it.

I run an asus sabertooth P67 motherboard with onboard intel 82579 gigabit lan controller connected directly to a cisco DPC3825 modem/router combo I got from shaw.
the other computer which is running netflix somewhere else in the house is a random laptop on wifi.

It is your router, you want to get one with qos quality of. Service or check if your current one has it and set priority for all udp traffic.

To test this theory, try pinging your router. You should get less than 10ms ping...
