I was wondering if the build I chose could run BF3 on Ultra on 720p resolution and a playable frame rate. Here are the components I have so far.
CPU:
Intel Pentium G850 Sandy Bridge 2.9GHz LGA 1155 65W Dual-Core Desktop Processor Intel HD Graphics 2000 BX80623G850

GPU:
EVGA 02G-P4-3658-KR GeForce GTX 650 Ti BOOST SuperClocked 2GB 192-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 SLI Support Video Card

Memory thing:
Crucial Ballistix Sport 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model BLS4G3D1339DS1S00

Additionally, if anyone could take a guess, could this build even run BF4 on high?

BF4 is an unknown for now, no point speculating too much. High should be doable and maybe even ultra.

For BF3 I think 720p Ultra is well within your the 650ti's grasp. It even aces a higher res.

CPU wise, it should do fine as well, worse than i3, better than Phenom II X2

For multiplayer, stay away from 64 man maps/servers and you should be good

For 64man you may want 8gb of ram as well as there were reported issues with just . I think you'll be fine if only have the game running and nothing else on 4gb.

An i3 really won't be much of an upgrade as the HT dosen't help all that much. You could get an i5 for $170 and keep your mb. Reselling your cpu can help keep costs down.
Going an AMD FX6300 would be cheaper but would require an OS reinstall as well as having to resell your mb as well.

What you can do is get the game first and see how you like the performance of your current rig and make upgrades if you're not happy with it.

If you're fine with SATA 2 speeds, then this mb becomes a good cheap option.

It allows a nice OC for the chip if you want and supports USB 3 at a lower price. Only thing it lacks is SATA3 which only is an issue if you have fast SSD's.
