I usually import registries of a game to another OS when i re-install my win7 in case i lost the game's disk
for example, I copy all the data from the game's installed location to my flash drive and go to regedit and export all the registries related to that game and after editing them and changing their address to mine they'll work just fine in new OS if u run them double click on them, they'll register ur game and u just need to paste the game in that location u addressed for ur registries

i used to do this for my win7 to win7s and i never used this for win8
i donno if it'll work on win8 registries

my question is, does registries in win8 differ from the ones in win7, to import from 7 to 8 i mean

Windows 8 is a completely different OS to Windows 7. So while there may be some similarities between the 2 as far as regedit goes, you can't expect everything to be identical.

I guess whether or not the game works is game-specific.
