Is my PC really outdated?

Hi everybody, I wanted to know what you guys think about my PC, I built it two years ago and so far I'm quite happy with it, however I want to know if my hardware is really outdated, as you may know the Next-Gen consoles are arriving this year, and I want to be sure my PC can handle the new engines for the next few years, now don't get me wrong, I do know about hardware and I do know that mid-range PC is way better than a ps4 or a xbox one, but I keep asking myself if my PC continues to be a high-end one capable of running anything without problems, and if it will continue to do so in the future, these are the specs:

Intel Core i7 870
Intel DP55KG Extreme Series Motherboard
Twin Frozr III ATI HD 7950 Boost Edition
8 GB RAM DDR3
Corsair Professional Series HX 1050 Watt PSU

Please tell me what you guys think, I think that buying a new CPU and Motherboard right now will be a waste of money, as for the GPU I bought that one because it was a really cheap and came with three games.

Thanks

You could go a bit further if you feel you need it. As mentioned keep an eye on your temps and voltages.

Reminds me a bit of those 2K W PSU's which are funny since most NA house breakers will trip arround 1.8k W which menas you could never full use the 2K psu in residential situations.

Yeah I bought that PSU because I had a thermaltake 430w one previously, so it was causing lots of issues due to low wattage and didn't want to experience those again, the clock of my CPU is 3,69 GHz (with turboboost activated) should I OC it more? I don't really have lots of fans to play with high temperatures.

But are you guys talking about the overall temperature of the system? or just the GPU? by the way I only have two fans but they seem to keep the system well cooled especially for the huge one that has my thermaltake case, however now you mentioned it I'll check all my components temperatures.
