Hi everyone!

I am new to PC Gaming. Could you please answer a question for me?

This is going to be my budget build:

1. Intel Core i3-3225 CPU
2. (Don't Know What to Get!!??) Gigabyte GTX 760 OC or ASUS GTX 660 Ti DirectCU OC or the Zotac GTX 660 Amp Edition?
3. Asus P8-H77-I Motherboard
4. Corsair Vengeance Blue 8 GB (2X4 GB) PC3-12800 1600mHz
5. Asus 24xDVD-RW Serial ATA Internal OEM Drive DRW-24B1ST
6. 500GB Western Digital Caviar Blue Hard Drive
7. Arctic White BitFenix Prodigy Case
8. Airlink WiFi USB
10. 430W Corsair CX430 Power Supply

I have 2 questions:
1. I have listed 3 graphics cards in my budget. The Gigabyte GTX 760 OC, the ASUS GTX 660 Ti DirectCU OC, and the Zotac GTX 660 Amp Edition. Unfortunately, I do not know which one to get. Any advice?

2. Based on your advised card from above, will a 430W Corsair CX430 Power Supply be enough to safely run my build? Corsair makes quality PSUs so I am guessing that a 430W will be just about as good as a 500W.

If not, with a quality 430W Corsair CX430 Power Supply and only an Intel i3 3225 CPU, which graphics card should I get?

I am primarily interested in playing games like Tomb Raider and Battlefield 3 and especially the upcoming Battlefield 4 at 1080p/high/ultra, but on a budget....Please, consider that I will stick to my i3 and the Corsair 430 Power Supply since I already bought them...thank you for your advice.

Your card probably comes with one. They're a couple of dollars of Newegg, Amazon etc.

If you already have the 430W, stick with it. But yes, the 500W wouldn't need one.

Will you please be kind enough to tell us your overall budget for the build.

Anyways get the 760, it is the best of them.
Get a 1TB HDD. They are just like 7-8 dollars more.
And get at least a 550W PSU. I mean, you should not get anything less than that because the PSU might have to work too hard then.

Anyways what is your overall budget and in which country do you live?

Corsair's low end PSUs aren't as great as the rest of theirs; they tried to cut the prices. They're OK, but not brilliant. I'd suggest anything 500W+ from the brands in my sig.

There's no point in an i3-3225; it's an i3-3220 with better integrated graphics. Which you won't use.

Another voice for the 760, but looks good in general.

Oddly enough, the 760 is actually closer in performance to a 670 than a 660 TI, trading blows with the 670 and outperforming the 660 TI. Since they are so close in price, I would get the 760. But, considering the 600 Series is dropping in price as it is moved out of the market, you might catch a deal on a 600 Series card. With that said, the 430 only has 1 6+2 pin PCI-e connector, so you would have to use that plus a 4-Pin to PCI-e adapter to power up the 660 TI and 760. It will be enough to run all three cards but you will run the PSU well above 50% capacity while gaming if you get the 660 TI or 760. The 660 you listed will only require the 1 PCI-e connector you have available on PSU.

When you mentioned a 4-Pin to PCI-e adapter is that sold separately? Where can I get one? If I switch to a Corsair 500W (it says it has 2 PCI-e connectors), I won't need the adapter, right?

if you might even consider getting AMD graphics card -_- go for the 7870. the performance difference from a 660 ti is about 5 fps and about 60$ cheaper, then get a core i5. runs a lot better than the core i3. anything but that the build Is splendid,good work!

AMD graphics would not suit you as someone said earlier. The power draw is a great bit more and likely wouldn't fit on a 430W. However, (AMD camp time) some 7870s were released that utilize the GPU from the 79xx cards and these are a unquestionably faster than a 660 ti. Given that you already have the 430W PSU I would go with the 760 as well.

Side note: In future builds it is good practice to buy all the components at once as to avoid what has happened to you just now where you are limited by what you already bought.
