Hi Everyone,

Not sure how common this occurs, but I'm getting conflicting reports in regards to mobo + ram compatibility...

Mobo: Gigabyte G1 Sniper M3
Ram: Vengeance Low Profile 1600mhz 8gb (2x4gb) CML8GX3M2A1600C9

The spreadsheet from Gigabyte (http://download.gigabyte.asia/FileList/Memory/mb_memory_g1.sniper_m3.pdf) doesn't list the Ram model number above as compatible, while the Corsair product configurator does list the CML8GX3M2A1600C9 as compatible with the G1 Sniper M3

Extra Notes: the Corsair product configurator lists 2 instances of the G1 Sniper M3, but one instance suggests absolutely no 1600mhz ram sticks from corsair are compatible with the M3 mobo :/

Which source should I believe?

Thanks for reading

//TL;DR - Gigabyte says no, Corsair says yes. Wut?

Solution
Gigabyte simply can't test all the available memory modules on the market with their motherboards. If the modules are not on the list provided by Gigabyte it doesn't necesarilly mean they are not compatible with this MB.

I would believe Corsair report. If they say they tested this memory on this particular MB, it means that it will work.
