Are these parts good for my upgrade?

I have looked through the different websites to find these 'compatible' upgrades for my PC. I'm just wanting to know if all of these parts have a good reputation especially the power supply (I've heard some power supplies can destroy a PC if they are tacky)

Motherboard
Asus M5A78L-M Micro ATX AM3+ (£41)

Processor
AMD FX-8120 3.10GHZ 8core (£100)

Memory
Corsair XMS3 4GB 2x2gb DDR3 1600 (£38)

Power Supply
OCZ ModXStream Pro 500w 80Plus (£60)

Sorry if what I type looks a bit 'n00b' this would be my first upgrade.

Solution
Thought you were looking for compatibility, but since you ask ;) For the $10 difference is a good choice, for that price range I'd look at the Asus M5A97 LE R2.0 instead, the 550 PSU is the better of the two, but at the same price I'd go with the CORSAIR Builder Series CX600, and as long as here, for the DRAM I'd go the GSkill Ripjaws X F3-12800CL9D-4GBXL

But are they all compatible, one of the websites I went on said that they all are, but I'd rather hear it from someone...

Once again, yes your parts are compatible and will work better than the above suggestion as you havea 2x set of DRAM opposed to his pick of a single stick that will run in single channel opposed to your set in dual channel....I don't think I've purposely built a single channel since the 90's

I agree with you on the RAM, but what about the power supply and the motherboard that he suggested, how would that compare to the ones I suggested? Also, the processor that he suggested is better than the one I was going for, but it's around £30 more and I'm on a strict budget of around £240. Any idea's? (I know I'm asking a lot here)

Right I see, well I've found out today that I've had a hit to my budget, I'm only going to be able to spend around £200 now. I see this upgrade being a bit 'far-fetched' now my budget has gone down. However I have found a cheaper processor that boasts very good power (AMD FX-6300) at £88. This means I have a budget of £112 after this (out of this I need: Mobo, PS, RAM).
