Hello everyone. :)

I have purchased some hardware and I'm in need of an answer.

The hardware I have purchased is:
Gigabyte Z87M-D3H socket 1150 mobo
Intel core i5-4570 3.2 GHz CPU
2x4 GB Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey DD3 1600/ 9-9-9-27 Dual channel

So my dilemma is that the RAM runs at 1.65V and the mobo has 4x1.5V DDR3 DIMM sockets.

Is it going to be ok for me to ramp up the voltage on the motherboard, or is there any danger in doing so? Is feeding only 1.5V to the RAM going to hinder it's performance?

Probably should've looked into this before I ordered them, but alas, I didn't.

i had the same dilemma when i purchased the i7 2600k... everybody said.. " no no, 1,5 v ram is the maximum"... So, i have purchased 1,65v ram (corsair) and set the voltage to 1,575 "to be safeer", lower than that the system became unstable and with lower benchmark results... and the PC runs for almost 3 yars now :) without an issue

The JDEC spec is 1.5 ..... XMP capable hardware can do 1.65.

checked these ?

In most BIOS's I regularly use if the voltage is a problem, you get a warning (i.e text turns red) if ya try and set it above that level.... what happens when you do it ?

From what I've read, I can just disable the C6 and C7 states from the BIOS, and I will be able to power the core i5. The only downside being that the CPU will use 1-5 W more when idle, which isn't a big deal for me.
