Hello I have a LG monitor and i just purhcased an ASUS VE247H 24 inch LED Widescreen Full HD 1080p so i could DUEL display.

and it was absolutly awful, The colours were all wrong and washed out,

Im a designer and i need my screen to be as close to print quality without geting a $100 callibrator.

My current LG widescreen LED monitor is pretty damb good, apart from the fact you have to look dead centre to see its true colours. But when it goes to print it looks almost exactly the same,

I purchased the ASUS thinking it would be even better but all of the settings were awful. and i couldnt get it anywhere near good.

Can anyone give some advice on what monitor to exchange the ASUS for?

Maybe even just stick to a LED LG screen again the same as my current?
Although i would like to go a better quality, but dont want to have to send it back again!

Thanks.

take a look at this asus ips monitor: http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/PA248Q

i have the p238qr and the colors are great, but i'm a gamer and i regret buying it because it has a response time of 6ms and a refresh rate of 60hz at its max, which SUCKS for gaming.

you can't really have both a monitor for gaming and design... unless you buy a korean true ips and 120+hz monitor off of ebay.

for gaming, you want to get a monitor that has a response time of 1ms and a refresh rate of 120hz+ like this one: http://www.asus.com/Monitors_Projectors/VG248QE

if you want more info on the best gaming monitors etc... go here: http://www.blurbusters.com/

i cannot stress this enough: if you plan on gaming hardcore, playing fps games, etc... you must buy a monitor that has a 1ms response time and one that is capable of handling 120hz+ of a "refresh rate". games look like shit on anything less that the specs i just outlined. also, for gaming, a monitor with lightboost is ideal as you can completely eliminate motion blur using a simple software hack (if you have an amd card) or by using your nvidia gpu.

Graphics/Design is my key reason for a new monitor, I need it print reliable,

But i also want to play the best games, Like Rome 2 Total war a new game coming september 3RD, I have looked around and found
this ultrasharp on amazon http://www.amazon.co.uk/Dell-Ultrasharp-U2412M-Widescreen-Monitor/dp/B005LNDPPS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1375641249&sr=8-1&keywords=dell+ultrasharp

I think that should do both good for gaming and design?

Well i purchased the ASUS for £145, so Around $180 or $200. Im happy to go to £200, but i want it to be the best for that price, I keep coming across reviews saying its broke or yellow tint or, Not realistic colour. Its very hard!

i highly doubt you will be disappointed with your asus ips monitor. they are very well made and will work just fine for your photoshop and other design needs.

first person shooter games and games that allow you to move in many different directions work best with monitors that have a fast response time (1ms is the best). they allow you to use a "refresh rate" of 120hz or more, which makes your games look much better. you can't have both an ips and a 1ms monitor unless you buy the korean models. its just the way it is.

either you purchase a monitor for design or professional gaming.
